We've been preparing for this for some years now and to tell you the truth we weren't sure that the day we would start building our own house with our own hands would ever come.

We've started this journey in an RV less than 12 sq meters in one of the coldest winters Greece met the last twenty years in 2016.

Well equiped RV van fears no winter

We started learning about building with clay, seven years ago and we were really amazed of how easy it can be to build a house out of almost nothing. We have conventional building skills from our living in big city era so it seemed very reasonable to start a project like that some day.

Knowing that the only way to survive winters like that was preserving food and producing as much food as we could that had good storage, we started learning about how to grow vegetables. The land we are using has high percentage in clay and that makes it hard to produce root crops.

But we managed to produce beetroots that has good storage and are easy to process into something delicious that can be canned. And so we've done the same thing with other veggies like tomatoes etc.

We upscaled our vegetable garden last summer mostly under the fruit orchard

so we can produce squashes, corn and beans in one part and melons and watermelons in another part. The three sisters(squash, corn and beans)

The Three Sisters legend

have also good for storage and are easy to be processed.Melons and watermelons are growing well in our land

We lived in the RV van for a year when we realized that we have to build something as soon as possible so we can focus on producing food and medicinals.

Once we've upscaled the vegetable garden it s time to start the building preparations so this summer we'll be ready for the heat that all the projects in Martha's Garden Farm will bring.

As soon as we've spread the word, people started coming from around the world to help with all the projects running and we've already met new people passionate about the same things we are.

Hopefully we meet more people this summer to share our passion and our experiences from the journey thus far
